Here at Wootton, a Cisco Networking Academy has been created and a Cisco lab has been installed. The Cisco Networking Academy Program is a technical curriculum designed to provide students with a strong foundation in network technology including both theory and actual implementation. The program utilizes web-based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, and hands-on labs as part of a series of courses that prepare students for industry standard certifications including courses 1 through 4.
The CCNA certification (CISCO Certified Network Associate) indicates a foundation in apprentice knowledge of networking. The program began in 1998 and has gone through many curriculum changes to keep up with the new technologies. CCNA certified professionals can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP, RIP, VLANs, Ethernet, and Access Lists.
