Fun at the Fire Station Open Houses during Fire Safety Month!

October is National Fire Safety Month, so several fire departments have open houses, giving community members an opportunity to check out their equipment, vehicles, animals (yes...animals! We've seen Dalmatians and rescue dogs, as well as rescue horses that search for missing people!)

Jackson and Grace have had an amazing time checking out all the cool things! They've pretended to drive rescue trucks and ambulances. They've been on a rescue ATV, which is used for rescues in the C and O canal. They've both had several opportunities to spray real fire hoses, with the help of a genuine fire fighter, too! Jackson has also saved a "victim" from a firey house after putting out the flames!
