Mrs. Gifford's Very Busy Summer Vacation
I spent quite a bit of time working this summer. In June, I spent two weeks at Career Camps teaching Flash. The first week I was at Edison High School, and the second week I was at Wootton High School. After Career Camp, I continued working on a graduate class that started at the end of May. The class was called Foundations of Distance Education, and it was quite interesting. I learned about many aspects of distance education, including the history of distance education and many of the schools that are currently leaders in this field. Finally, in August my family went to Ocean City, MD for a week of fun!
Ocean City, Maryland
Ocean City was a blast! Our crew included my husband and I, our three year old twins (Jackson and Grace) and my parents. We spent a lot of time at the pool and the beach. My brother also has a boat docked in the neighborhood, so we spent some time hanging out on the boat, crabbing for fun (we always returned the crabs back to the water after a quick snap shot!) and having snacks.
Jackson and Grace really loved being on the boat! Jackson, who tells everybody that he is a firefighter, sat himself down in the caption's seat, picked up the CB radio, and went to work. Calling all firefighters! We have an emergency! Bring the ambulance! he exclaimed over and over as he pretended to be the caption of a firefighting boat. Grace had a great time hanging out with her Grandma in the galley, and of course, catching crabs!
Other than the boat and the pool, Jackson and Grace loved riding the kiddie rides. We spent a great deal of time at Jolly Rogers riding the helicopters, trains, carousel, and so much more! They really had a blast!
After our week at Ocean City, we did a couple more fun things on Labor Day weekend...
Our Labor Day Weekend Activities
So, yes we did have some more fun on Labor Day weekend. We started with a quick jaunt to Adventure Park, USA where Jackson and Grace rode some rides and...one of their favorite things to do...rode tandem go-carts!
Hershey Park was really fun. The ride to get there wasn't too bad, just about an hour and a half. The kids did a good job getting there. Once there, I think they were shocked to see all the rides and people. Once again, the kiddie rides stole the show as they rode on helicopters, hot air balloons, cars, trucks, trains, air planes, giant swings, and so much more! It was a long day for them, but they still talk about it!
